A new home……
We finally got settled in after a couple of hours and I realized that Mimi had moved into MY space, and I needed to do something about it! I started galloping at her at full speed and making her start kicking to show her who was boss. Poor Mimi was so scared that she started pacing in front of the gate and neighing. The humans were all stressed and distraught, but fortunately they have lots of friends who came to the rescue with advice and ideas (thanks for the texts, @picturesquefarmllc!) and things started changing. We had supervised time together grazing, grooming, eating, and training. We spent time in different paddocks with a fence between us, and our human and @naturalhorsetraining built a fence in our stall. I decided having Mimi there was ok—at least most of the time—and Mimi hasn’t paced for hours in days. We’re exercising exercising and training together the way the human hoped we would. She really wants to start taking us out together, but that’s a story for another post—stay tuned!
