Mimi’s training era
Mimi is now in her indoor training era! She has been doing so well on her outdoor therapy horse training visits that the human scheduled her Summit Dog, Inc. evaluation for the end of November—so, indoors we go! We started at Petco yesterday with a team of five humans (thank you Lori Norford Bakewell for the photography!) Mimi’s hooves didn’t fit into her boots that we brought, but thankfully the huge bag of Build-A-Bear Workshop shoes, recently restocked with donations from Kelly Tower Yoder, worked for both of us! Mimi practiced her turns and backing up and being pet, hugged, and crowded. She walked by dogs and didn’t even notice when I wasn’t nearby! The humans gently introduced dropping quiet items to get her used to noises behind her. Thank you to everyone in PetCo yesterday who kindly helped our training efforts! It takes a village to make a therapy horse. We have outdoor visits scheduled next week and then the human has to be out of town for a while, but indoor training continues next month! See comments for video of our indoor pony parade. #minihorses #miniaturehorses #therapyhorse
